When it comes to choosing the best sports bluetooth headphones for your workout, then you can be spoilt for choice, or finding that none seem to suit your needs?
There are a lot of headphones out there all claiming to be the best for your gym workout / running. So what you choose, will first come down to your own preferences and what you are looking for, however we put together this short guide to help you make the right decision, so you get the best sports bluetooth headphones for your workout.
Working out and going to the gym can sometimes be a lonely affair so you will always want to make sure that you have some headphones with you.
What Style of Earphone should I go for?
When it comes to headphone design, this is down to your preference and budget.
First there are standard sport wireless earphones with two earbuds connected via a cable / wire and then there will generally be volume controls and music controls on the cable or earphone. This is a pretty basic setup and works well, you can then choose the earphones that suit your style, comfort, whether you want magnetic ones or ear hooks?
They work with one bluetooth connection, so you pair to the earphones as a set. and music / calls will play from both.
Also with them wrapping around your neck (with the cable) then you can wear them when you take an earphone out, and generally it gives you a bit of freedom from cables and yet security as the one cable still exists to wear around your neck. When in, the earphones take the weight off of the cable, so you don’t need to worry about having something wrapped around you when running and in the gym.
The second option is to have true wireless running headphones. So these are great for sports, running and in the gym, as they completely remove wires and you can choose to have one or both playing music.
Generally you will pay more for true wireless headphones as there is more tech crammed in and they will generally have more features.
Such as True Wireless will connect as a pair to each other and then the one connection to your phone, so there is a double connection, however they will typically have bluetooth 5.0 for greater connectivity and a more stable music experience.
Then with true wireless earbuds they will again have controls, however many do not have volume controls built into them, so this is something that you will ave to consider, when purchasing if you want this. However many, like the Proze TWS-02 Wireless Earbud, has a voice assistant activation, so you can easily ask your phone’s assistant to adjust the volume or make calls, to save you fiddling with your phone, whilst running. So each have their pros and cons.
Again True Wireless Headphones come with different sizes and fits, so you can get running headphones with ear hooks and fins, so that they will stay in your ear when working out.
Fit and Comfort..
Again coming back to the fit, this will be entirely your preference whether you go for just plain buds, ones with fins, that fit inside your ear and add support and security, or full sports hooks, that stop them moving anywhere as they are essentially tied around the back of your ear?
Next is the actual size of the bud, as the last thing you want when running, cycling or working out are the buds jiggling about and working their way out of your ear and you having to push them back in every 2 seconds.
If this is happening to you, then definitely try a different size silicone bud, and to prevent this make sure that what you buy does come with a selection of sizes.
Next you want to make sure that you can make and take calls with ease, as there is nothing worse than a call (that you can’t ignore) coming in whilst working out and then not being able to hear them, nor they you. So make sure that whichever pair you do choose have great call quality.
Look for cVc Noise cancelling technology, as this is a specific technology works to cancel out background noise when on calls for your microphone, so that it does not pick up all of the other noises in the gym.
Also you will want a pair of sport headphones with a HD microphone, which will mean that the person you speak to will be able to hear you better.
Sweat and Waterproof Headphones
This is one point you definitely need to make sure you get right, otherwise you will be returning or binning a pair of wet sport earphones.
So the earphones will want to be both sweat and waterproof, so you need to make sure that they are IP rated, otherwise, this means that anything more than a splash and they are done for.
So for example the Proze Sport Wireless Bluetooth Headphones are IPX5, so they are rated against water jets, which is more than splashes, so you can get them wet, sweaty and out in the rain, with no problems.
Then the Proze TWS-02 True Wireless Buds are IP67, so they can actually be submerged in water (at no more than 1 meter deep). So are perfect for any rain or situation that you maybe caught in, however even though they can be submerged, they cannot be used for swimming, as for Swimming , you would need to know they can be submerged at a depth over 1m, which is IP68, so if you are looking for swimming headphones, search for IP68.
Finally one of the biggest points, whether you are an audiophile or not, is sound quality. Everyone wants their music to sound great from their headphones. So you will want to make sure that the sport headphones you buy have great sound quality.
There are a few pointers here, look for headphones that tell you the actual codecs used, AAC, aptX, as if they do not even mention these, good chance they don’t use a decent codec, which already puts your earphones in the 2nd devision. If you want to be in the premiere league, then you can get other features, such as graphene or dynamic drivers, with EQ settings and the larger the driver, the better, as it will be able to handle higher volumes and offer a greater width of sound.
Such as the Proze TWS-03 Wireless Bluetooth Earphones have 10mm Graphene Enhanced Dynamic drivers, for the best sound, aired with AAC coding and changeable EQ settings, which all allows you to make your music sound like it would in the studio. The quality is also much better than any competitors at this level of earbud, such as the Jabra Elite Active 65t.

We recommend the Proze Sport Wireless Earphones for those of you who just want a great pair of workout headphones, with good battery life, so you don’t have to be constantly charging them, good sound quality, so your music sounds great and ear hooks for comfort and security whilst working out.
